The Perfect Girl’s Trip to Fort Worth, Texas
Experiencing the Western Charm of Fort Worth
Fort Worth is where old-west history meets modern western luxury. It is one of those cities that instantly welcomes you in with its charm, great food, and deep Texas heritage. From longhorns and cobblestone streets in the Stockyards to boot shopping, college football, and live music, this long weekend had the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.
Where to Stay in Fort Worth
For this trip, we rented a cute Airbnb just ten minutes from the Stockyards. It gave us plenty of space and flexibility, while still being close to everything we wanted to do. With morning runs to LaLaLand and easy parking, it was the perfect home base for the weekend.
Another great option is the beautiful Hotel Drover, located right inside Mule Alley. It is luxurious, western, and walkable to every restaurant, shop, and bar in the Stockyards.
PRO TIP: Stay as close to the Stockyards as possible. You may think you’ll get bored and visit other places, but trust us, you won’t.
What to Do in Fort Worth in the Fall
Visiting Fort Worth feels like stepping into a modern western movie in the best way. Here are a few must-see experiences and top stops to add to your weekend itinerary:
Boot Shopping at Tecovas
Not Fort Worth trip is complete without trying on boots and Tecovas makes it a whole experience. Offering free drinks (tequila included!) while we tried on every pair under the sun. We laughed, compared styles, and eventually found our favorites. They even offer to custom brand the boots for you, which made it feel extra special and very Fort Worth.
Billy Bob’s Texas
Billy Bob’s is the world’s largest honky-tonk and an absolute Fort Worth classic. It’s the kind of place where everyone is having a good time, with live country music and dancing happening no matter what night of the week it is. It’s the perfect place to put your new boots to work and end the weekend on a high note.
Drinks at the Cowboy Channel Bar
If you want to feel like a real cowboy, you have to make a stop at the Cowboy Channel Bar. It has a laid-back atmosphere with great drinks, live rodeos on TV, and plenty of sports. And if you’re traveling with guys who are already tired of shopping, this is the perfect spot to drop them off for a while.
TCU Football Game
Saturday was game day, so we headed to the TCU football game. The atmosphere was electric, purple everywhere, loud crowds, and such a fun college game-day experience. Before kickoff, they had three-dollar beers and hotdogs, so head into the stadium early and grab one while you can. And to top it all off, Michelle Randolph from Landman even made an appearance.

Where to Eat in Fort Worth
You can’t visit New York without indulging in a few iconic bites. From upscale dining to street food, the options are endless—and delicious.
We started the weekend with dinner at Cattlemen’s, owned by Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. Their beef comes straight from the legendary 6666’s Ranch, and the whole place feels authentically western. Delicious steaks, old-west atmosphere, and such a fun nod to Fort Worth’s cowboy culture.
Lunch at Paloma Suerte was unforgettable. The margaritas were amazing, the atmosphere was lively, and the food was even better. We highly recommend the beef short rib birria — it was the star of the meal.
LaLaLand Kind Cafe was the sweetest surprise. Their signature lattes were incredible, and the staff was genuinely the kindest. They even brought us three free holiday drinks just to try — it made the whole stop feel extra special. PS, they might tell you they love you when you leave. It’s part of the experience, just go with it.
